- Users of Multi Analytical Client/Server deploy an
enterprise based system. A computer acts as
the server, and centralizes maintenance and administrative activities.
Client machines use the
TCP/IP protocol to connect over the network. Program licenses are metered dynamically, allowing to install and run the
software on a larger number of clients than the licenses acquired. The server
safely handle concurrent access to shared resources through resource locking.
- Multi Analytical Workstation runs on a stand-alone system, whether connected to a
network or not. A Workstation system places no locks on resources, and concurrent access
is not guaranteed to be safe.
